Dr. Ernest Mwebaze leads Sunbird AI in building practical artificial intelligence solutions and open-source language models tailored for East African communities. Over the past twelve months, he has spearheaded the development of multilingual AI tools, including the Sunflower LLM supporting local African languages, to enhance digital inclusion and data-driven decision-making in agriculture and civic services across Uganda.
