Former Associate Professor of Law & Technology at Addis Ababa University and Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds, Dr. Yilma is one of East Africa's leading scholars on the legal and security implications of artificial intelligence. He edited Oxford University Press's special issue on AI governance in Africa and authored The Global Governance of Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Yilma actively advises the Ethiopian government, the African Union Commission, and IGAD on privacy, digital constitutionalism, and regulating AI-driven cyber threat vectors.
