Dr. Rose Nakasi

Dr. Rose Nakasi is an academic and researcher dedicated to advancing artificial intelligence education and research in Africa. Her research focuses on Computer Vision, Mobile Microscopy and AI for Tropical Disease Diagnostics and she has worked on developing low cost, smartphone-based diagnostic tools for malaria in blood smear. As an academic leader at Makerere University AI Lab, Dr. Rose Nakasi is continuing to develop the skills of local AI experts and create practical solutions to local and regional challenges.
