Eng. Worku Gachena

As Director General of the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute (EAII), Worku Gachena oversees the integration of artificial intelligence into Ethiopia's national infrastructure and security architecture. He led the strategic agreement with the Financial Intelligence Service to build AI-driven platforms for real-time analysis of transaction data to combat money laundering and illicit financial networks. Under his leadership, EAII shapes Ethiopia's National AI Strategy, developing homegrown AI threat analytics and data security safeguards aligned with international standards.
