Sunbird AI developed Sunflower, a homegrown AI language model officially launched on October 11, 2025, by Uganda's Ministry of ICT. The model supports more than five local languages including Luganda, Runyankole, Ateso, Acholi, and Lugbara, making technology accessible to every Ugandan regardless of language.
